Ecuador Economic Activity Rose 2.2% in June, Lifting First-Half Growth to 2%

Ecuador's central bank reported that its monthly index of economic activity, the IMAEc, rose 2.2% in June against the same month of 2025, taking cumulative growth over the first half of 2026 to 2%. Services grew 2.6% and contributed 1.2 percentage points, the largest single share, while commerce rose 4%, manufacturing 4.2% and construction 3.9%. Oil and mining fell 3.4% on lower national crude output and reduced mining export volumes, and agriculture, livestock, forestry and fishing contracted 1.5%. The bank said the result reflected greater dynamism across most activities, offsetting those contractions, and put non-oil activity, its main engine, at 2.3%.
