Argentina's Economic Activity Rises 0.8% in June After Two Monthly Declines

Argentina's monthly economic activity estimator rose 0.8% in June from May after seasonally adjusted declines of 1.6% in April and 0.6% in May, the national statistics agency reported on August 20. Activity was 2.7% higher than in June 2025 and 1.9% higher across the first half of 2026 than a year earlier. Twelve of 15 sectors expanded year over year, led by fishing at 247.6% and mining and quarrying at 15.6%. Public administration and defense recorded the largest annual decline, at 1.5%.
