Japan’s real GDP grew 0.4% from the previous quarter in April-June 2026, equivalent to a 1.4% annualized rate, the Cabinet Office’s second preliminary estimate showed. The figures were revised up from 0.3% quarterly and 1.1% annualized in the first estimate released August 17. Private non-residential investment fell 0.9%, less than the initially estimated 1.2% decline, while private consumption was flat. Net exports contributed 0.5 percentage point, unchanged, and domestic demand subtracted 0.1 point instead of 0.2. Nominal GDP rose 1.3% quarterly and 5.5% annualized.
