Joshua Wong Pleads Guilty in Second Hong Kong National Security Case

Joshua Wong pleaded guilty at Hong Kong’s High Court to conspiracy to collude with foreign forces, his second prosecution under the 2020 national security law. Prosecutors said Wong and exiled activist Nathan Law agreed around 2016 to lobby internationally, and that Wong continued supporting the campaign after the law took effect, including seeking foreign sanctions or other hostile measures. Wong confirmed the agreed facts. Judge William Tam deferred sentencing without setting a date; the offence carries three to 10 years in prison, or up to life if deemed grave.
