Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said its navy struck three oil tankers using what it called an unauthorized route through the Strait of Hormuz and three U.S.-linked vessels elsewhere on Saturday evening. The Guards described the action as retaliation for U.S. strikes on three Iranian tankers earlier that day and warned other vessels against movement on routes Tehran has not authorized. Iran did not name the six vessels or provide exact locations, damage assessments, or casualty information. The United States had not immediately commented, and the claimed attacks could not be independently confirmed.
