Police Investigate Suspected Murder-Suicide After Woman Killed in Petah Tikva

Police are investigating a suspected murder-suicide in Petah Tikva after a 43-year-old woman was found fatally injured in an apartment overnight on November 1–2. Her husband was subsequently found dead after officers began searching for him. Investigators suspect he attacked her with an axe while their children were present, before leaving the home and taking his own life. The suspected sequence remains the account under investigation by police. Magen David Adom said its Yarkon regional emergency dispatch centre received a report at 00:02 local time on November 2 about a woman injured in a violent incident on Yosef Sprinzak Street. Emergency personnel found her unconscious, without a pulse or breathing, and with a severe injury. They carried out medical checks and pronounced her dead at the scene. The responding paramedics described a “very difficult scene” and said her injury was critical. Officers from Petah Tikva station in the police's Central District attended the apartment and opened an investigation into the circumstances. The emergency service's statement confirms the woman's death and the medical response; the account of the suspected attack and the husband's subsequent death comes from the police investigation.
