Yair Netanyahu Calls Arab Citizens Israel's Greatest Threat After Nuclear Iran

Yair Netanyahu, the son of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, said on October 30 that Arab citizens posed Israel's greatest threat to survival apart from Iran's nuclear program. In a statement on his official Telegram channel, he explicitly linked his remarks to the election results. He ranked the danger he attributed to Arab citizens above that posed by Palestinians in Judea and Samaria and Gaza, Turkey, and rising antisemitism in the West. He wrote, “A country cannot survive long-term,” if 20% of its population identified with its enemies and wanted its destruction. That characterization was Netanyahu's allegation about Arab citizens. In an earlier post on the same channel that morning, Netanyahu had said his objection to Arab parties concerned their political positions rather than their ethnicity. He alleged that the parties promoted Palestinian nationalist and Islamist platforms and that some of their members supported terrorists. His two posts combined criticism of the parties with allegations about the loyalty of Arab citizens. The remarks came after Israel's parliamentary election. The Ministry of Education's election information page listed October 27, 2026, as the voting date and said the results would determine the factional composition of the 26th Knesset.
