Brad Lander Says IDF Detained Him During West Bank Olive Harvest

Courtroom-sketch editorial illustration of archival July 2020 olive trees on a dry rocky hillside near Jericho, with a wooden fenced structure and distant hills, rendered in warm ochre and slate-blue pastel strokes. Contextual landscape, not a depiction of Brad Lander, the harvest or the reported October 2026 detention.

Brad Lander said Israeli forces detained him on Wednesday while he was harvesting olives with rabbis and volunteers in the West Bank. Yehoshua Schoffman, another participant, said police, Border Police and soldiers arrived after roughly two and a half hours and ordered the group to stop harvesting. Schoffman said everyone complied and that he was being taken to a police station. He said the group included several dozen Israeli volunteers associated with Rabbis for Human Rights and several dozen American rabbis.
