The Israel Defense Forces named Capt. Eliav Haim Tzapalamus on Thursday as the officer killed in southern Lebanon. Tzapalamus, 21, was from Haifa and served as a combat officer in Battalion 603 of Brigade 7, according to the military's official casualty notice. The IDF said three soldiers were lightly wounded in the same incident and were taken to hospital for medical treatment. The military said their families had been notified, and its announcement identified the fallen officer after his family was informed.
