Nigeria’s Economy Grows 4.43% in Q2 as Oil and Non-Oil Sectors Accelerate

Nigeria’s real GDP grew 4.43% year on year in the second quarter of 2026, up from 4.23% a year earlier and 3.89% in the first quarter. Services expanded 4.60% and accounted for 56.62% of real GDP, while agriculture grew 4.39% and represented 26.15%. Industry grew 3.96%, slowing from 7.46% a year earlier. Average oil output rose to 1.72 million barrels per day; the oil sector grew 7.31%, while the non-oil sector expanded 4.31% and supplied 95.84% of real GDP. Nominal GDP reached ₦119.29 trillion.
