Switzerland's Federal Department of Defence, Civil Protection and Sport has created a civil-military Center for Unmanned Systems focused on drones and robotics. Its Tech Hub will link military requirements with expertise from armasuisse, universities, startups and industry, while the military command tests systems under realistic conditions and oversees training. The center will also be open to other federal departments, cantons and emergency-response organizations. The department says drone flights over military and critical infrastructure are increasing, and plans a dedicated recruit school and a drone battalion for reconnaissance, operations and defense from 2028.
