Ceuta Protesters Breach Police Cordon and Burn Migrant Camp Belongings

Dozens of protesters in Ceuta breached a National Police cordon and entered a migrant camp near Playa Benítez on Thursday evening, according to three Spanish reports. They damaged the rebuilt settlement behind the desalination plant and set belongings or straw shelters on fire, while migrants fled toward a wall and police moved between the groups. The disturbance followed an attempted blockade of Red Cross food deliveries. Reports differed on whether one delayed truck later entered, two vehicles initially withdrew, or food kits had already been delivered before protesters reached the site; none reported a death or named injury from the fires.
