India and China Add Two Border Hotlines and Two Commander Meeting Points

India and China agreed to create two additional commander-level meeting points and two new military-hotline channels along the disputed border, one each in the eastern and middle sectors. The formal eight-point package followed talks in Beijing between Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Indian National Security Adviser Ajit Doval. The countries also established working groups on boundary delimitation and border management, and said incidents along the Line of Actual Control should be handled promptly through diplomatic and military channels. They plan another trans-border-rivers expert meeting in September and the next special-representatives talks in India in 2027.
