Le président Isaac Herzog a remis dimanche la Médaille présidentielle d’honneur à 11 Israéliens à la résidence présidentielle, à Jérusalem. Les récipiendaires étaient Yona Elian-Keshet, Hossam Haick, Mooli Lahad, Hefziba Lifshitz, Yossi Leshem, Abie Abraham Moses, Ziva Mekonen, Moshe Nissim, le rabbin Haim Sabato, Yehuda Eder et Uriel Reichman. Leur action couvre la science, l’éducation, la culture, la défense de causes sociales, le service public et l’étude de la Torah. Herzog a qualifié chaque récipiendaire de « phare » dans son domaine et appelé à l’unité civique pendant la période électorale. Instituée par le président Shimon Peres en 2012, la médaille récompense des contributions exceptionnelles à Israël ou à l’humanité.
