In the late 1980s, "Human Security" became a thing - ostensibly an alternative to political realism, military strategy, deterrence and related "hard security" (ie war). It was and remains a collection of slogans reflecting the inability of the West's chattering class & wider society to deal with real world aggression, war, mass terror etc (Putin; Xi; Iran; Hamas etc). @IAIonline, @SIPRIorg and their counterparts need to move on.
