Onku @okoye_festus who was @inecnigeria national commissioner then, says #NigeriaDecides2023 was #WellPackaged? Does he fully understand how that sounds?! https://t.co/33qnxX4zRZ https://t.co/F7MvcStsW4
Pls, did Benue, the state ruled by a supposedly celibate Catholic Priest, actually commission an Office of 1st Lady on 7 Sept 2026?! https://t.co/gWoiUKzDku
Dadiyata disappeared Aug 2019; Dan Shagamu slaughtered Sept. 2026. https://t.co/BAwIHXJnvJ
Those who think that it's ok for power to be deployed to cover up the murder of a a pregnant woman & to orphan her children will have a #HigherPower to answer to for them & their generations. https://t.co/WHP0jp3T5P
After 17 yrs of war and close to 350,000 indirect civilian deaths, the conflict in #Nigeria’s northeast is stalemated. Yet behind the scenes there has been a long if faltering attempt by the #Nigerian government to find a negotiated breakthrough to the jihadist insurgency. The idea of negotiations with #BokoHaram – officially Jama’at Ahl al Sunna li Da’wa wal Jihad (JAS) – and #ISWAP, its offshoot and rival, sharply divides Nigeria. @NigeriaGov officially says there can be no talks with groups legally proscribed as terrorist organisations. However, last June, it reached a 3-month ceasefire with #BokoHaram, which seems to be holding, reports @newhumanitarian. https://t.co/HdmxFncVXX
Rev. Fr. @HyacinthAlia went to the seminary. They teach Cannon Law there. The curriculum does not extend to freedom of movement. So, he has no way of knowing that a citizen of #Nigeria does not need his blessing to traverse the country. https://t.co/fLTujuuUe6
The new president of the @UKSupremeCourt is 71 & was first appointed a judge 20 yrs ago. In #Nigeria, he'd have been long retired since last year. https://t.co/mnkhSoVaWU
Prime Minister Abubakar Tarawa Balewa was an old boy of @BCZ_zaria where he was taught by Sidney John Hogben. In 1964, as PM, he wrote the Foreword to the book on "The Emirates of Northern Nigeria" By Mr. Hogben & the late Tony Kirk-Green of @UniofOxford. That book is 60 yrs old this year. Today, #Nigeria has a leader at the highest level who cannot mention the name of even 1 teacher under whom they studied or what school they went to.
From Tanzania & Uganda to Zambia, South Sudan and Lesotho, #Africa’s leading figures of plural politics are up against the gravest of charges, & some may face the death penalty for daring to contest against incumbents. Are states confronting real threats or reaching for treason & terrorism laws against their political opponents? @Sheriffbw queries https://t.co/cNOf70bmci
Following @Uber's disengagement from #Nigeria in the past week, it looks like #Moove, the Nigeria-born unicorn that has been Uber’s vehicle financing partner in #Africa south of the Sahara, is also considering an exit from the Nigerian market. https://t.co/bayyNoldy8
The @officialEFCC cannot manage a single audited annual report to the legislature that created it but enjoys the hypocrisy of being able to demand transparency from others while operating behind a veil of secrecy regarding its own accountability. https://t.co/CGc3dzaWMC
The @OfficialAPCNg is going around threatening to kill people & snatch their wives. @inecnigeria & @PoliceNG are busy UN looking & occupying the front pages of newspapers. How unfamiliar is that? https://t.co/euSkwvlO1V
24 years after the assassination of the Onitsha branch Chairman of @NigBarAssoc, Barnabas Igwe, & his pregnant wife, Amaka, @THISDAYLIVE asks whether the @Anambrastate_ of @CCSoludo understands the burden of #DelayedJustice. https://t.co/3rSQBbYFMl https://t.co/S2mzNGOTLp
This newly inaugurated LG Chairman from Uromi is #Nigeria's political #MemeDuJour. Seriously though, the guy does something ingenious - he transforms loyalty into a transitive verb & (to be sure he is never on the wrong side) conjugates it in future continuous or predictive tense. Isn't that what #NigerianPolitics is about these days?!
Nearly a quarter of a century after the #DoubleMurder of the chairman of @NigBarAssoc in Onitsha, @Anambrastate_ng, Barnabas Igwe; & his pregnant wife, Amaka, the case remains one of the most unsettling reminders of how a determined investigation can be stalled by high-level interference. @Lawandsocietym follows the saga.
On @90minutesAfrica tomorrow, September 6, 2026, at 18.30 hrs WAT/13.30 hrs EST, I'll be joining @DrDamages. Barnabas Igwe was Chairman of @NigBarAssoc in Onitsha when he was hacked to death 24 yrs ago with his pregnant wife, Amaka. Today, a principal suspect in that crime is in charge of security in Anambra State. Are there questions to ask of answer?
In power since 2015 (11 yrs), @OfficialAPCNg has every reason to run on its record. Instead its electoral platform is violence, intimidation, killing, chopping off fingers, & stealing people's wives?! https://t.co/tx8hZnPvsp
The @OfficialAPCNg know they are in trouble. All these orchestrated threats & co-ordinated exhibition of madness is not accidental.
There is nothing like @OfficialDSSNG bans operatives from arresting folks for civil issues. The point is that no agency has any such powers. If anyone was doing that, it was patently illegal & actually unconstitutional. https://t.co/VgmyLzUYzI
#JustIn: The prosecution of former Chairman of Shendam Branch of @NigBarAssoc, @GTsenyen, for a village WhatsApp post in Plateau State, returned today to @FederalHigh in Abuja before Justice Joyce Abdulmalik. The prosecution team was from the Federal Ministry of Justice, FMOJ. Defence was led by @EmekaEtiabaSAN & included Emmanuel SAN; Obinna Ajoku SAN, & 9 other lawyers. Prosecution successfully withdrew the charges before Justice Ajumogobia & then proceeded with the two pending before Justice Abdulmalik. Defence applied for bail. The court adjourned the case to 26.10 2026. Pending fulfilment of the bail conditions, the country order Mr. Tsenyen bound over to the personal bond of lead counsel, Emeka Etiaba, SAN.
....No sir, there were arrests by @PoliceNG ; there are names. That is why Mr. Ken Emeakayi is in issue. He was one of the people arrested. He was charged. Then things started happening....
Other countries attract FDI; #Nigeria under @officialABAT is shipping them out - Uber, Jumia, Netflix, PZ, Microsoft, Bolt Foods.... When is Tinubu visiting Nigeria next? https://t.co/aPbPO0gA6b
"....An unwritten [Security] Council custom holds that the secretary-general post should rotate among the @UN regional groups, & this cycle is widely seen as Latin America & the Caribbean’s turn. 6 of the current candidates come from the region, but 2 #African nominees are also in contention. It is also considered long time for the UN to be led by a woman, for the first time in its history, yet 3 men are competing in the race." via @pass_blue https://t.co/4awihSYJom
Remembering Barnabas Igwe, chairman of @NigBarAssoc in Onitsha, & his pregnant wife, Amaka Igwe, murdered 24 yrs ago. A principal suspect in that murder is now in charge of security in the state in which they were killed. @AtlDigest reports.... https://t.co/q8S09m4wxQ
Barnabas & Amaka Igwe, the #DoubleMurder that never got answered in #Nigeria's graveyard of #UnresolvedMurders. @NigBarAssoc @Globalrightsng @TapNitiative https://t.co/QidkRpFSZx
