Iran Doubles Third-Tier Gasoline Price as New Rate Takes Effect

Iran doubled the third-tier gasoline price charged through emergency station cards from 5,000 to 10,000 toman per liter, or 50,000 to 100,000 rials, at midnight Tuesday. Monthly private-car quotas remain 60 liters at 1,500 toman and 50 liters at 3,000 toman. Together, these subsidized tiers cover more than 85% of users, while about 15% of consumption uses emergency cards, which remain available without restriction. Motorcycle quotas remain 25 liters at 1,500 toman and 20 liters at 3,000 toman. The nationwide change targets consumption beyond subsidized allocations.
