Greater Sydney Parks Close Trails and Campsites for Saturday’s Total Fire Ban

New South Wales National Parks and Wildlife Service will close remote campsites, walking tracks and vehicle trails across Greater Sydney for 24 hours during Saturday’s total fire ban. The shutdown runs from 11:59 p.m. Friday to 11:59 p.m. Saturday and covers Royal, Georges River and Heathcote national parks, including the Royal Coast Track, Garawarra Farm, Uloola Falls and Garie campgrounds. Major roads and the Wattamolla, Bonnie Vale, Garie and Audley visitor precincts remain open. The Bureau of Meteorology forecasts extreme fire danger, 33°C heat and north-to-northwesterly winds reaching 50 km/h.
